Hi everyone, I've decided that I'd like to make my first book, When the Summer Ends, free for anyone that can leave a review on Amazon. I'd really appreciate it if any of you would read my book and leave a review, as reviews on self-published books are much more valuable than anything else. Message me here if you're interested, and can honestly commit to leaving a review!

Summary of When the Summer Ends:

A tale of love and friendship set in the 1950s, When the Summer Ends tackles society’s views of the times.

Aika Rowland is a young lady affected by Aspergers, and struggling to live her life; her famous family has its own problems and often she is overlooked, finding it hard to fit in with her outlandish clothes and strange mannerisms. That is, until she meets rough, tough Greaser girl, Cherry Knox, the girl who shows her what love is really about.

After weeks of proof-reading and nerves, I’ve finally taken the plunge and published my first novel to Amazon! I’m thrilled, and at the same time, nearly fainting with anxiety, hoping very much that at least some people will like it.

You can get it from Amazon now for 2 pounds and six pence ($2.99), or free on Kindle Unlimited in a few days (I’ll let you know when I’ve sorted the ins and outs of Kindle Unlimited). Reviews are incredibly welcome, especially of the kind and positive ilk! Here it is.

Hope you enjoy it! Give some love to Nami, who illustrated the cover at her Instagram!

Hi everyone! I've noticed a lack of active sewing communities on LiveJournal, aside from Sew Loli, which is Lolita central - so I decided to make one myself! Currently it's only me in the community, so anyone is welcome to join and start posting.

I've recently finished editing my novel, so I expect after Christmas or even before then it will be available for purchase! Currently I'm reading it through, checking for mistakes and if it flows. I'll post again when it is available! :D

Also, I've made an AO3 account where you can read my fanfictions. archiveofourown.org/users/elli… I've only got my old It fanfiction "Funhouse" there at the moment, and it is rather long, but soon I'll upload from my other fandoms, such as Jeeves and Wooster and French films.

This Sunday I have finished writing 40 chapters of When the Summer Ends, marking the end of my book! I’ve had so much fun writing this book lately, though at the same time I’m very happy it’s done. Now all I need to do is edit 35 chapters and then I can publish… Wish me luck!

For now, please enjoy this poem I’ve written:

When the Summer Ends

When the summer ends, and the leaves fall from the trees like embers,
I miss that sultry, blazing sun and the secrets we whispered mouth-to-ear on cloudless days.
Those summer evenings seemed an endless eternity, and yet autumn came all too soon.
The autumnal days brought us closer together as we made memories,
sharing school and heart.
Then winter came and autumn crumpled and died,
bringing with it a bitter curse sent to tear us apart.
And spring never came…
Not for many seasons to come.

Recently I've been plowing through my first novel, When the Summer Ends, and to get myself out there before I finish, I've created a website for my books. It's still a work in progress, but go and check it out here!

Hi everyone, I haven't been very active here - again - but my life has been very busy at the moment.

I'm currently writing a lot of my novel, When the Summer Ends, and going about editing it. So far I'm on chapter 32/40, so only eight more chapters plus editing to go!
Synopsis:
A tale of love and friendship set in the 1950s, When the Summer Ends tackles society's views of the times.

Also, I've started college, changed college again, and finally trying to settle back into a routine.

There's a new member to my family, a little Westie puppy called Bertie, after Bertie Wooster from the Jeeves series! He's adorable, and you can see a picture of him over at my blog (which is now open for readers to view). missemorris.blogspot.co.uk/

I'm doing Art and Design full-time at college, but at the same time I'm working on a 1930s style digital piece on SAI that I'm hoping to share with you soon.

Hello, sorry for my long absence. Exams and life in general has gotten in the way of me doing art and writing, so I'm working on that now the holidays are here. :)

I apologise that I haven't been favouriting/commenting recently also.

Tomorrow I'm going to London for a few days, so I'll be gone again, haha. :XD:

Hi guys, how are you? I haven't submitted anything for a while because of how busy I am at school, and also because I'm lazy and can't be bothered with art. :)

I've:
  • Recently became obsessed with a new anime called Yuri Kuma Arashi (and yes, it's a yuri!) :P
  • Been diagnosed with a lot of horrible shit... Pardon my choice of words.
  • Almost finished my skirt for GCSE Textiles!
  • I've completed a 50s style dress for what I imagine one of my OCs, Evangeline, to wear in a chapter of the second book I'm writing. It's actually wearable!
  • And speaking of books, I'm actually three quarters of the way through my first novel, When the Summer Ends!
Perhaps I'll stop being so lazy soon and actually draw something.  I have an idea, but no time. :XD:

I am alive, just very inactive with submitting pictures, and even commenting/favouriting! :O Right now I'm working on a fashion design, which I shall soon submit, as well as writing my stories and sewing a pair of bloomers (and getting it terribly wrong!). Here's some things that have happened to me recently, if anybody is interested (but I doubt it):

  • I'm working on my GCSEs.
  • I've made a bonnet and a pair of bloomers, as I've decided to become a costume designer when I leave school and join college.
  • I took up horse-riding at a local stables along with my sister, and got up to the stage of jumping, but as my sister no longer enjoys it due to her horse being a stubborn ass, we both are giving it up...
  • In October I turned 16!
  • Recently I've come out of the closet and told both my parents that I'm a lesbian, which was the most nerve-wracking thing I've EVER done. Thankfully they took it well! I can't tell my friends though, in case anybody was wondering, because a lot of them are very homophobic and would dump me as a friend without a second thought...
  • Soon my sister will be getting a kitten and we're thinking of names (Disney orientated), but I'm allergic to cats. Basically, I'll be sneezing until I reach the age of 36!
So yeah, that's basically my current life in a nutshell! How are you guys?

10 Things about Me
1. I'm veeery short, have blonde hair and blue eyes. Apparently I also have the skin of a vampire that hasn't seen the sun for thousands of years...
2. My face is very young also, so people at school who are younger than me think I'm a first year, and fall off their chairs when I tell them I'm actually a senior!
3. I have Aspergers/High-Functioning Autism.
4. I have two dogs that are both cocker spaniels, Indy and Cleo.
5. I just adore lolita fashion! But right now I'm really into classic lolita.
6. Currently I'm writing three books (one is personal to me, and the others I may publish one day)!
7. I love drawing as well as writing, but never seem to have time to do it!
8. As well as writing and drawing *sighs* I also really like sewing despite being terrible at it. Right now I'm attempting to make a bonnet.
9. My dad owns a bearded dragon called Spyro.
10. Apparently I'm a very cheerful, bubbly person to be around (but my parents may say otherwise!)

3: Favourite animal?: Dogs obviously!
4: Favourite movie?: At the moment it's a tie between Psycho and Breakfast at Tiffany's.
5: Favourite book?: Stephen King's IT and the Vampire Chronicles by Anne Rice... But then there's P.G. Wodehouse's Jeeves series that I adore! This is a hard question!

8: Favourite song?: I really like Gardenia by Malice Mizer
9: Favourite artist/band?: Malice Mizer!

New England was so beautiful, especially Maine! I saw a lot of things I wouldn't have seen back in "old England", as my brother puts it, and I've learned more about the pilgrims and first settlers to America. I'd love to go again sometime, and especially to Vermont, as that's where my story is set.

I did some sketches and wrote some chapters of my book (now I'm up to ch. 22)! Maybe I'll post something soon, but I'm starting school tomorrow - my final year at High School! - and will obviously be quite busy... :) Also, I'm thinking of getting into sewing/millinery. On holiday I picked up some supplies to make some lolita bonnets, so I may be behind on my drawing because of that, also... At the moment I'm in the middle of a digital art post of Claudia from the Vampire Chronicles. Hopefully it will be done soon.

I know I'm not very active on DA at the moment... To be honest, I'm not very active on the internet, at least not as active as I used to be. I'm not very busy with drawing either, and I'm not sure why; sometimes I think I'm getting a bit bored with art, and I much prefer writing. Although, I am getting quite far with my writing at the moment! I hope to do lots in New England, as that's where the book I'm writing is set (in Vermont to be precise, although I won't be going there).

I'm going to Boston in Massachusetts, as well as places in Maine and New Hampshire, so I'll be gone for two weeks. I'm really looking forward to it, especially Maine, as that's where almost all of Stephen King's books are set!

The first 10 people to comment "elliemorris, feature me!" on this journal will get a feature!
If you comment, you have to do the same in your journal, putting me in the first spot.
- The idea of this is not to get a free feature, it is to spread art around for everyone!
I will pick 3 artworks from your gallery and feature them here!

(Please don't be shy, I actually like doing features as it's a good way to spread art around and get notice!)

Ten facts about me:
1) I go to an all-girls school. Colour houses were recently introduced (like in Harry Potter) and I'm in the red house! GRYFFINDOR! :XD:
2) I'm really in love with the French film 'Les Amitiés Particulières' right now, and I'd do anything to get my hands on the book!
3) Recently, I got a new cocker puppy called Cleo.
4) Spring and summer are my favourite seasons.
5) I dream of owning more than two lolita dresses, but at the moment, it isn't going to happen, aha.
6) I'm currently writing a book, but fanfictions keep getting in the way.
7) My anatomy sucks.
8) Fashion and clothes are my favourite thing to draw.
9) I think I've listened to Malice Mizer, every day, for almost four years...
10) This year I'll be going on holiday to France and New England. Yay!

Questions for me:
1) How long does it usually take you to draw some artwork?
On average, about a week (but that's if I actually try to make an effort XD).

2) What's your favourite colour?
Can't decide between pink, red, and purple.

3) Do you prefer drawing traditional or digital?
Digital is easier, but at the moment I'm in love with trying new water colour techniques.

4) Why?
Well, you can easily undo mistakes in digital media. With traditional, you have to keep a steady hand 24/7, something I fail at.

5) What's your favourite song at the moment?
Ahh, I can't choose! Probably 'Seraph' by Malice Mizer.

6) What's your OTP? (favourite ship)
At the moment, it's Georges De Sarre x Alexandre Motier from Les Amitiés Particulières. Their relationship is so pure and wholesome, yet the priests at their school are so determined to break them apart. It's really fascinating in a way. Georges is cunning enough to get rid of the people who are in the way of what he wants, and Alexandre is oblivious to how scheming he really is. I just think it's a really cute couple... *shuts up now*

7) What's the strangest video you've seen?
Nothing springs to mind... but some vocaloid videos I used to like when I was into vocaloid... They were pretty disturbing. I won't link, because to tell the truth, I never want to see them again, as they gave me nightmares. XD

8) Do you have any OCs (original characters)? If so, what are they called and what are some facts about them?
I have a few; Aika, Amaya, Cissy, and Yolandi are my faves.
Aika is thirteen and lives in Vermont, USA. Despite her Japanese name, she is not actually Japanese, but half-French, half-American. The reason for her name was that her father, who fought during world war two, wanted something edgy and different for her name... as a kind of status. You know how celebrities name their kids strange things? Like that. She really dislikes it, and it gets her teased a bit at school. She's really a sweet person though, but shy and timid. I'm currently writing a story about her, so I won't reveal too much for now. ;) She's the character I draw the most, as you can see from my gallery.
Amaya is my first OC. She is 16 and comes from Japan. The time I made her, I felt really down about myself, and I think the dark comic I put her in at the time really reflects that... I cringe whenever I see that now! She's fiesty and tom-boyish, but has a really dark back story. She could be a really nice girl, if she weren't kidnapped, which made her very cautious of people and a little violent.
Cissy first lived in California, but hated her life there, as her younger brother was murdered and her parents were crazily strict. She had to wear muted, old fashioned clothes, and never speak to anybody outside of her parents interests. However, she ran away to New York, dyed her hair purple (you rebel!), and started to dress the way she likes - which is a little bit saucy, lol. I often draw her with a chainsaw mask, because I have a feeling she'll turn out to be a psychopath if someone gets on her bad side.
Yolandi is from South Africa, but lives in England with her mum and younger brother. Her brother is paralysed in a wheelchair because of a terrible accident, and she often looks out for him because her mum is too sick to do it herself. She's the prefect of the red house at her school, and is always cheerful and energetic no matter what life throws at her.

9) Could you write something in another language, then translate it for us?
Ohhhhh God. I have learnt a few different languages at school (French, Spanish, Chinese, and a tiny bit of Polish from my friend), but nothing off the top of my head without looking at an exercise book! Um, how about wat kyk jy? That loosly means 'what are you looking at?' in Afrikaans, and I only know that because of a Die Antwoord song, ahaha.

10) If you had to change your name, what would you change it to?
Probably Josephine. I love that name. It sounds so beautiful, and one of my good friends has that name, which makes it even more special.

I'm not going to tag people, because it may get annoying, so I'm just going to say, anyone can answer these questions, either in a journal or a comment below.
My questions are:
1) What is your favourite kind of art, digital or traditional.
2) Which country would you love to visit?
3) Tell me something about your OCs, if you have any.
4) What is your current OC?
5) Do you have any siblings?
6) Which Harry Potter house would you belong in?
7) What is your favourite thing about a person?
8) Do you have any hidden talents?
9) What is your favourite film?
10) What's your favourite colour?

Today we got our new puppy after about two weeks of searching! She is a golden cocker spaniel of four months old and we bought her from a breeders. When we first saw her, it was like love at first sight for everyone! At the breeder's home, she was very lively and energetic, going around to everybody to get a fuss. She is also very dainty and small for a puppy of four months old, but in very good health. We just had to have her!

For her name, it was actually really weird at the time. The night before we even went to see her, I wrote down Cleo as a possible name, and didn't tell anybody as I thought we were getting a boy instead of a girl. The next day when we knew it was a girl we were going to see, my younger sister said out of the blue: 'Cleo is a cute name.' My Nana was shocked, because she also thought of that name last night and wrote it down. Kind of like a psychic moment, ahaha. So naturally, it just had to be!

The breeder delivered her to our house in the morning as he was going somewhere in our town. She scampered around, sniffing everything, her little tail wagging, and she ran around racing with my four year old brother. Thankfully she came with the expensive food her breeder makes her eat, two food and water bowls, and a tiny red lead and collar set. We gave her an old cuddly toy that my sister used to own, that is bigger than Cleo herself. Ironically, it is a lamb we gave her, so I nicknamed it the 'Sacrificial lamb'. I can tell the poor lamb isn't going to last long, ahaha.

She was getting sleepy, as she had stayed awake the whole car journey. But my black cocker spaniel, Indy, was coming round to meet her as he usually does on a Saturday, so she had to stay awake for a bit. When Indy came, they were both really happy with each other. He barked a little, but Cleo is fully used to other dogs and didn't mind at all. I think they're going to be friends in their own animal way, ahah.

When things had calmed down a little bit, she wanted to go to sleep. I don't know why (maybe it's because I'm a very relaxed person? Or maybe I just smell good to her? XD) but she fell asleep in my arms for half an hour - and kind of curled herself around my neck like a scarf. She was really warm and soft and cuddly, so I almost wanted to go to sleep myself.

Cleo is just so beautiful and I'm so happy she's in my family now.
